5 Tips To Uplift Your Mindset

Let’s work through a mindset exercise
We’re often hampered by a negative mindset or worrying mindset or an anxious mindset when we're looking to make big changes in our lives– and a negative mindset sabotages the best of your actions
When you’re anxious or feeling misaligned with your purpose, try these five quick strategies to realign and uplift your mindset
First thing - I'd like you to do is to take in some deep breaths
Breathe in for the count of four, breathe out to the count of six - repeat that two more times, breathing in for the count of four and breathing out to the count of six.
One more time, breathe in for the count of four and breathe out to the count of six
When we focus on deep breathing or we make the effort to breathe deeply, we release stress, and we release anxiety
Even if we cut our stress only for those short few moments while we focus on deep breathing – it helps
And if you keep repeating every half an hour, every hour, just those deep breathing exercises, it’ll do wonders to uplift your mindset
The second thing I'd love you to do is to close your eyes and observe your mind chatter - observe the thoughts coming up
There's no action required, nothing to do here, no lists to make - nothing to do
Simply observe the thoughts coming up and give them a space
Often we try to resist our thoughts or to change them, we’re feeling bad about something and we tell ourselves - I've got to think better, got to be more positive
This is not the time
This is the time to simply give awareness and permission to thoughts racing across your mind
And if you’re like me there's going to be a lot of mind chatter - it's a natural way the mind works - chattering and chattering all the time
The third thing I'd like you to do is to observe your fears and ask yourself what is the worst thing that could happen?

Sit quietly and ask yourself, observe the anxiety, observe the fears and ask yourself what is the worst thing that could happen?
Often you’ll find the answer is: not much…
The fourth strategy is to allow uncensored ideal career visioning to occur
If there were no limits, if you had a fabulous, magical wand from Hogwarts and you could cast a magical spell, what would your ideal career look like?
I want you to close your eyes and visualize it
What would it look like?
What environment would you be working in?
Would it be in a home office?
Would it be outdoors sometimes?
Would it be on a train, traveling through the country that you love to visit?
Would it be in a work office?
What does the environment look like?
What's on your desk?
Do you have a plant close by, do you have pictures of your family?
Pictures of friends, pictures of good times?
What does the ideal environment look like?
What is the ideal company?
Who would you like to work for?
Who would you like to work with?
What type of people we, or is there a particular mentor that you might want to work with, someone you admire?
What would that look like?
What kind of salary would you be earning?
What does your income look like?
Are you making enough money to be able to take care of all your financial obligations and have plenty to spare so you can travel and you can enjoy some of the other things that are outside of work, pay for the school tuitions of the kids to go on trips to Disneyland, whatever it is?
What kind of work are you doing?
What would really give you joy every day?
What kind of work are you doing?
Work that you would jump out of bed for every day?
Observe what comes up for you
And the fifth strategy - what physical movement could you do right now to alter your state of being or your state of mind?
Physical movement uplifts us
When we are in a state of doubt, worry, fear, anxiety- even if you move only for five minutes, in that five minutes you will alter your state of being and you can alter your state of mind
What physical movement could you do right now?
If you're at home, could you jump up and have a dance for five minutes?
If you're sitting at the desk in an office, could you have a couple of stretches, stretch your arms upwards, stretch your arms sideways, bend forward
If you can, are you able to do a couple of yoga, stretches, maybe a few Pilates poses
Could you take a break and go for a jog, go for a run, go for a walk in nature?
What physical movement could you do right now to alter your state of being?
Those are my five strategies - I do them often - I use them often and they've never failed me
